A New Look
Yes, Again
Update: Switching back for a bit.
Update #2: Then not. Isn’t this fascinating?
Update #3: I’m really writing this last update for my own future embarrassment. I am weak for an insatiable technosocial fetish. But, this is it. Done.
I’m trying another look and layout. I’m indulging a little (more than the usual) narcissism, though at least as much for the experiment of aggregating a few of the ways I interact with (ugh) “the cloud” as to twiddle my keys and stroke my style.
There are a good many ways I play online. Many of them have come to dominate my time, such that I carry the frustration of a man at once drawn to spend time in curiously ephemeral pursuits but who also wants to achieve real, corporeal results of his endless(ly banal) cogitation. I’m tempted (again) to attempt a full departure from all this evil technology, eyeing as I do a simpler life involving midget sheep and wooden bleachers.
Wait, There’s More
But that fails to differentiate the motivations and discipline of a user from the tool used, and these are all merely tools. Just as people, not guns, kill people, people, not tools, waste time and attention and the active application of creative energy. So, despite how much I want to charge admission to events sure to cause a subsequent sequestering to “the joint,” I’m going to give this whole “disciplined application of attention” thing one more go.
Agregado is the beautiful result of Darren Hoyt’s and Matt Dawson’s combined efforts. I will, eventually, remove some of the more decorative touches. They’re wonderful, but not me. I appreciate the undercarriage quite a lot, though, with features like the lifestream module, for pulling in those decentralized online meanderings, and the integrated contact form.
Things will be changing incrementally over coming weeks, and hopefully this is not merely lipstick on a pig.
